2017 Snapper season come to an end

2017 Snapper season come to an end

Posted by Management in General 14 Aug 2017

Now that Red snapper season is over, we are switching gears to catch lane and Mangrove snapper, also catching red grouper on the all day trips. Half day trips are producing spanish mackeral, barracuda and bonito. The 6 hour trips you catch a balance of trolling and bottom fishing. 2017 was one of the best years catching red snapper since the ealy 1970’s as we were catching limits on most all the full day trips. If you dont have a boat and rely on a charter to access the resource, make sure you go to the Gulf council website and your congressmans office and let them know. There are groups out there that are doing back room deals to rob you of your access on your favorite federally permitted charter boat. Also let them know that you beleive federal management has more access protection than state management. We are activly envolved in securing your access to the fishery as a charter boat customer. Help us help you. Sign up to help fight the fight, “ACCESS”. http://joincfa.org/Individual
